Easy Reindeer Candy Canes Favors

Candy canes dressed up like reindeer’s make the cutest favors for the holidays. The best part is they are so easy to create and you can have your kids help. I chose to make these for my son’s preschool classmates as a Christmas present that he can pass out.

DIY Reindeer Candy Canes

You will need:

  • Pipe cleaners

  • Bells (or you can use pom poms)

  • Googly eyes

  • Glue gun

  • Candy canes

  • Mini Santa hats

These supplies are really easy to gather. I went to my local craft supply stores and found them all.

I started by turning on my glue gun I would say go for a low temp so you don’t burn through the plastic.

When choosing to purchase your googly eyes at your local craft store make sure to keep in mind the size you buy. They have many sizes to choose from depending on where you go so it can get confusing. If it helps you can always take a candy cane with you that will help guide you in choosing the right size. That’s what I did!

On a side note, I chose the googly eyes that have lashes for the girls in the classroom. They are so cute!

When I added the pipe cleaners I just eyeballed twisting them into looking like antlers. I then added a dab of glue to it so it would stick and not move around. If you seem to have trouble doing this step you can simply wrap the pipe cleaner around on of your fingers for a fun swirly look as well.

The Santa mini hat is optional of course. I honestly couldn’t resist this super cute detail. I always like adding my own twist somehow to crafts that have already been done before.

Lastly, I created these fun tags that I attached to each one.

I hope you liked this simple and easy craft idea for Christmas.

Let me know in the comments if you decided to create these cuties with your kids. I love reading all your comments.

I wish you a very Happy Holiday.
