Fall Outdoor Dinner and Dining

Outdoor dinners are my absolute fave! I just love turning on string lights and candles to set a warm and cozy tone. I decided to throw a family dinner party to celebrate my father’s birthday. He never is one to like celebrating so I figured a dinner outdoors would be perfect (since he’s not picky).

Dinner Party Prep Tips

Let’s start from the beginning! When I know I’m hosting a dinner whether it’s something big or small I like to choose a theme to begin with. I think about what kind of food I want to serve and I start planning along the lines of that. To start I make a list of my ideas to help me stay focused and organized. For example, I start with what I want to serve for food I think of appetizers, dinner course ideas and of course the dessert. Beverages are also something to add to the list.

Food

When I started planning my outdoor dinner party I knew I wanted it to be fall inspired. I visioned pumpkins and all the fun fall things. I decided that I wanted the foods to also follow that feel as well.

When I went shopping for foods I looked for things that would fit and compliment the colors that I was already using for my table scape. For example, for the cheese board… I used dried oranges, figs, pomegranate seeds and dried hibiscus flowers. Choosing the right foods that can really make everything come together beautifully.

I also added a bread and butter board.

I mean who doesn't like some yummy bread and butter before a meal!

I wish I had time to take pictures of the dinner I made but I seriously was on crunch time! However I did manage to get this quick pic of the pumpkin donuts I was serving.

They were so delicious it seriously melted in my mouth! Also, I got so much great feedback on the cute little donut pouches I made using parchment paper! What do you think? Cute right?!

Refreshments

For refreshments I served simple water and a blend of lemon and fresh mint water. It was so yummy and refreshing. Isn’t that green so pretty with a little greenery around the table? It’s all in the details.

Tablescape

I really wanted my father to feel special so I created a little β€œmenu” that I scattered around the table for him.

Can we also talk about how my utensil set holders stood out on the plates!?

I love how they came out.

I hope to have inspired you. I love how this dinner came out and I couldn't wait to share it with you all.

Let me know what you liked the most by leaving a comment. I love reading your thoughts. Have a Happy Fall!
